Skardu Tour Packages built around the valley, not a checklist

Our tour packages are deliberately all-inclusive so the price you see is the price you pay. Once you land at Skardu airport (or step off the bus at the Skardu adda) you should not need your wallet again unless you want to.

Inside every package: private 4×4 transport for the whole trip, a licensed Balti driver-guide, accommodation in vetted properties, breakfast and dinner every day, all entry tickets and NOC permits, and a fully insured vehicle. Our office is on Yadgar Chowk in Skardu — if anything goes sideways during your trip, a real person picks up the phone.

Three days is a long weekend in Skardu. You will get a real taste — Shangrila, the Kachura lakes, Shigar fort and an evening on the Sarfaranga cold desert. It is the right length for travellers flying into Skardu on a Friday and out on a Sunday, and we run it year-round.

Five days is our most popular Skardu package. It adds a full day on the Deosai Plains, an early-morning sunrise at Sheosar Lake, and a relaxed evening at Khaplu Palace. Five days is the minimum length we recommend if Deosai is on your list, because the drive in and out eats a full day on either side.

Seven, ten and fourteen-day packages stretch the trip into the more remote valleys — Basho, Hushe, Khaplu's Saling and Machulo La, Hunza via the Karakoram Highway, the Fairy Meadows base camp on a clear-weather window, and (for trekkers) the start of the K2 Base Camp trail at Askole.

Skardu has four very different seasons and the right package depends on when you go. April brings apricot blossom across Shigar and Khaplu, but the road to Deosai is still snow-blocked. May through September is the high season — Deosai is open, Khaplu is green, and the K2 trek window runs late June through mid-September.

October paints the valleys in gold as the poplars turn — our quietest, most photogenic month for honeymoons. November through March is snowbound: magical, but for adventure travellers only, with most high passes closed.

We open bookings six months in advance and recommend confirming your Skardu tour package at least eight weeks before your travel date, because the heritage hotels (Shigar Fort, Khaplu Palace, Serena Shigar) sell out first.

Roughly half the trips we run every year are custom. A few examples from last season: a four-generation family of fourteen who needed two interconnected suites at Khaplu and a flat-route itinerary for grandparents; a German photographer who wanted moonless nights at Deosai for astro work; a Karachi couple who asked us to recreate their honeymoon for their tenth anniversary — same hotels, same rooms, same dessert at Shigar Fort.
