Family Tour Packages Skardu

A family trip to Skardu is not the same trip as a backpacker's first solo adventure. Kids get tired, grandparents need flat ground, and somebody is always going to be hungry. Our family tour packages are built around those realities — comfort hotels with room service, private vehicles with proper car seats, a paced 7-day itinerary with rest mornings, and easy walks instead of altitude hikes.

Below is the 7-day family route most of our Pakistani and Gulf-based families book, plus a longer 9-day version for multi-generation groups travelling with grandparents. Everything is private, everything is paced for the youngest traveller, and the headline price is per person with meaningful discounts for kids under twelve.

What makes a family tour different

We do not put families on group jeeps. Every family booking gets a private vehicle (Prado or Land Cruiser) sized to the group, with proper child seats on request, and a dedicated driver who stays with the family for the full trip. We avoid the long single-day drives to Deosai unless the kids are over ten — instead, we split it across two days with a stop at Sadpara Lake.

Hotels are chosen for family logistics: connecting rooms at Shangrila, the family suite at Khaplu Palace, ground-floor rooms with a verandah at Shigar. Meals are mid-evening (kids get hungry early) and we always carry packed lunches for long drives.

  • Private Land Cruiser or Prado for the whole trip
  • Connecting / family rooms at every property
  • Child seats and booster seats on request
  • Easy walks — no altitude treks for under-twelves
  • Packed lunches on every long drive
  • Built-in rest mornings every 2-3 days

The 7-day family itinerary

Day 1 arrival and Shangrila — a relaxed afternoon by the heart-shaped lake. Day 2 Upper and Lower Kachura — easy lake-side walks and a paddle. Day 3 Shigar — Shigar Fort, apricot orchards and a kid-friendly cooking class with the hotel team.

Day 4-5 Khaplu — two nights at Khaplu Palace with the family suite. Day 6 the gentler half of Deosai (Sadpara Lake to Bara Pani picnic, not the full plateau crossing). Day 7 Sarfaranga cold desert at sunset and airport transfer the next morning.

Pricing for kids and multi-generation groups

Adults pay the headline rate. Kids under twelve get 40 percent off the per-person price. Infants under two are free. Grandparents stay in the same per-person tier as adults — there is no senior discount, but we add a small flat ground / rest morning supplement to the itinerary at no extra cost.

A 7-day family of two adults and two kids (one under twelve) typically lands at PKR 285,000-320,000 all-in, depending on the hotel tier. A 9-day multi-gen family of six (four adults, two kids) typically lands at PKR 620,000-680,000.
